Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management
Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the hotel's financial performance and make recommendations for improvement
Develop annual operating budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management
Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on market trends, historical data, and business objectives
Monitor actual financial performance against budget and forecast and provide insights to support decision-making
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support
Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funds are available for daily operations and strategic investments
Monitor bank accounts, cash reserves, and investment portfolios to optimize cash management strategies
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maximize cash flow efficiency
Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business development opportunities
Conduct feasibility studies and financial modeling to evaluate the potential impact of new projects or initiatives
Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to align financial plans with overall business objectives
Supervise and mentor finance department staff, including accountants, financial analysts, and clerical staff
Provide training, guidance, and support to develop employees' skills and capabilities
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance team
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is preferred
Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles within the hospitality industry, with a focus on hotels or resorts
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and internal controls
Experience with hotel-specific financial systems and software, such as hotel property management systems (PMS) and Oracle ERP accounting software
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Leadership abilities with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
